General Services:

  • Survey and assess the needs of individuals, public agencies, firms, and schools for basic, vocational, technical, academic, and recreational education, giving attention to the needs of those wanting technical and academic courses leading to post-secondary certificates and diplomas.
  • Serve as a setting for face-to-face interaction between businesses, schools, parents, students, social service agencies, and other interested parties.
  • Provide or arrange for facilities in which to offer classes, instruction, and learning technologies to individuals and groups for personal and cultural enrichment and for the development of a full range of work skills.
  • Select the best educational providers to offer courses and instruction at on-site and off-site locations in Huntington County to provide local access to degree and non-degree programs.
  • Provide information and instruction on searching and retrieving information and accessing distance education.
  • Provide a professional staff to assist in writing educational objectives, conducting surveys, assessing outcomes, and disseminating information regarding education and training opportunities, occupation and career outlooks, demographic data, cultural actives, etc.
  • Actively keep learning as a life long priority for the residents of Huntington County.
